Lauren Puckett, MA; LPC

Hello! My name is Lauren and I use she/her pronouns. I am so proud of you for being here. This is a huge step to starting the counseling process and can often be one of the most difficult. I maintain a holistic and eclectic approach to counseling utilizing different theories and schools of thought. My ultimate goal is to use approaches that benefit the person I’m working with. I primarily utilize a trauma-informed approach in addition to being person-centered. My biggest passions are working with individuals who have experienced trauma and working with mothers who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. I feel connected and motivated to help these clients because this is an area that is so often underserved and overlooked. Additionally, it is an area I know well because I have personally experienced stillbirth and miscarriage.

You didn’t expect to be in this place and it’s not fair that you are. I understand this pain. As a fellow loss mom, and a therapist, I am here to come alongside and support you through this dark season of life. Losing your baby is a very traumatic and isolating experience. Unless someone has also experienced this, no one truly knows the emotional, physical, and spiritual toll it takes on a person. This kind of loss, often with no explanation, is one of the most painful things a mom can experience.

My training is in individual and group counseling and I am trained in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Grief and Loss, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am working on receiving my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C).

If this feels like a good fit, I would be honored to be your therapist.
